Many people feel this way and ask this same question. We would first encourage you to pray about where God is calling you! Never underestimate the power of prayer. Seek God and He will show you where He is leading you. Search for mission trips that match your gifts, abilities, and interests. Once you find several mission opportunities that may interest you, contact those ministries who are sponsoring those trips, and request more specific information. Continue to pray and trust God to show you when and where He wants you to serve.

How do I receive training for my mission trip?

The mission organization you choose to go with should provide the specific training you need.

I only speak one language. What if I travel to another nation that doesn't speak my language?

In many cases, an interpreter may be provided to help in communication. However, in those cases where no interpreter is available, it is important to remember that God will work and use you even without an interpreter! The ministry you choose to travel with should be able to provide you with various communication tools and as well as give specific training on how you will communicate with people who do not speak the same language as you.

You can obtain a passport application very easily by going to the United States

What should I pack before going on a mission trip?

Before going you must consider where you are going, what type of work you will be doing, how long you will be there, and what the range of temperature will be. The ministry you travel with should be able to give you information regarding what to pack. Check out www.onebag.com ...a cool website that helps travelers know how and what to pack for trips of all kinds.

How do most missionaries make a living?

The answer to this question varies from missionary to missionary. Many missionaries are funded through the gifts and donations of faithful friends and family who are committed to give on a regular basis. Some missionaries are financially supported by a church or a combination of several churches. Still other missionaries are funded through a denominational convention or an association of like-minded churches. And, still other missionaries may obtain funding by working "secular" jobs, while continuing to faithfully serve God.
